Yellow Hawkweed may be
easily confused with:
- Canada Hawkweed
Yellow hawkweed has a hairy, smooth-edged leaf; Canada hawkweed has a sparsely toothed, leaf without much hair.
- Cat's Ear
Cat's ear has a flower that is an inch or more across, while yellow hawkweed blooms are only about a half an inch across. Yellow hawkweed blooms are clustered, while cat's ear has single flowers.
- Common Sow-Thistle
The sow-thistle has a leaf that is stiff and deeply lobed, while yellow hawkweed has a softer leaf with a smooth edge.
